While we may often find what is “natural” and what is “man-made” as separate entities, we cannot forget that what is man-made rose from natural idea. The natural world is a constant that lends itself available to human intrigue and accommodation. All things created are created as offshoot of an already existing idea.

With this series I wanted to show that a man-made city contains principles stemming from the natural world. As mountains have stood tall for centuries, man created skyscrapers to do the same. As animals climb in trees, humans climb in buildings. The relationship between the contemporary metal of a bustling city and the timeless wonder of a natural place are often overlooked — but are nonetheless related.
